The white zone is for loading, and unloading, only.
When I was invited to start a Vox account a few weeks ago I accepted
mainly because I wanted to make sure that if it proved to be awesome
and hard to join later down the line I would already be "in". I
have been fairly committed (understatement) to LiveJournal for the last
four years and have checked out a lot of other online journal and
blogging options in the past, never too impressed with them. The
main things I love about LJ are here, plus more: the ability to
post audio, video (though I do not yet have a video camera), and easily
link up photos from my Flickr account. I guess the only downside
right now is that there aren't a lot of folks here yet, and eventually
I'd like to see many of the "friends" I had on LJ join me here so we
can stay in touch.
I have also been doing a lot of re-evaluation when it comes to my
online presence lately. For a long time I was pretty secretive
about my "real" identity and have used several different online
monikkers for both myself and my family. My reasons for feeling
that way fell by the wayside a couple of years ago and I'm ready to let
them go now. So if you are a longtime reader from elsewhere, bear
in mind that I have been using my husband's and kids' middle names all
along and now I'm not going to anymore.
To recap:
I am a mom and wife.
I have two beautiful children, one of whom we have
homeschooled/unschooled for two years, and another who is chomping at
the bit to go to "real" kindergarten this September.
I have followed a vegan-schmegan "life path" since 1998.
I am currently selling vegan goodies via Farmers Markets around Vancouver and the surrounding Lower Mainland, and enjoying it.
Up until this year I was mostly a stay-at-home Mom over the past decade, occassionally
making a foray into the world of minimum-wage servitude in various crappy
forms.
I am identify as fat and fat-positive (ie. I vehemently oppose our diet culture and fatphobia).
I like sex, vodka, the Muppets, and cooking.
I love music like whoa, and you can't shittalk The Flaming Lips around
me without recieving an ass-whooping in response.
My husband is a burnt-out city bus driver who is also an excellent father.
I love love.
I write poetry and would like to post an audio file of me reading one
of my favourites, for your listening pleasure. i actually won a
prize for this one.
Now, I've been messing around on here all morning, kind of
distractedly, because I was also trying to help Misha and the kids get
ready for their camping trip. Yes, they've left me alone here for
three days and two nights. I would have like to have joined them
but I have a market day on the weekend, at one of the busier ones
around town, and need the time to prepare.
So, what am I doing instead? Lazing around in a fancy dress and barefeet, drinking iced coffees, having a long leisurely shower, masturbating, and then going out to a matinee movie, plus dinner and drinks tonight. I have a solid work ethic.

Comments
I agree with you on the better than LJ part. But I still don't ike that I can't format the style of the journal, nor that I cant use css/html in my posts. Perhaps it's not a big deal for most people, but I'm a little annoyed. . .
hi hi:) good to see you here though i do have some complaints about the commenting functions over here. no reply button. seems kind of irritating. other then that and that my browser doesnt like it too much its ok. still sticking to lj. though i wish they would integrate the flicker side bar, collections and mp3 uploading as well over there.
who knows. anyways big squishes. camping sounds fun. i have been craving to go but its not likely to happen. you shoudl come over if you feel like leaving the house for a hot tub:)
Yay! Good to see you here. I still like the threaded comments feature on LJ much better, but VOX is very bloglike and does work well with video and audio. I'd love to hear more poetry--I love your writing and it's amazing to get to listen to your spoken word.
Huh, I haven't had issues with the no reply function. Though, I do really like it on LJ and on tribe. It hasn't been an issue yet, but perhaps when 93756435 more people sign up, it will be. Ce la vie.
welcome to vox! it's good to see you here. so misha is your husband's real name then?
